Gudina Tumsa Foundation (GTF) is an NGO established in Ethiopia in 1992 by family and friends of the late Reverend Gudina Tumsa to carry on his vision. GTF has the vision of seeing empowered communities that perceive themselves as capable human beings, equipped to actively engage in all aspects of spiritual and physical human life. It has been implementing various life changing projects and programs for over three decades.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Ø Organize archival records and develop classification systems to facilitate access to archival materials
Ø Acquire and process new archival materials and maintain records of document
Ø Provide reference services and assistance for users needing archival materials
Ø Prepare archival records, such as document descriptions, to allow easy access to information
Ø Authenticate and appraise historical documents and archival materials
Ø Create and maintain accessible, retrievable computer archives and databases, incorporating current advances in electronic information storage technology
Ø Preserve records, documents, and objects, copying records to film, disk, or computer formats
Ø Coordinate with pertinent teams and collect relevant information to be documented as success stories, case studies, policy briefs
Ø Convert the Foundation’s paper books into e-books, upload them to the website and document them by electronic means.
Ø Document progress and achievements for dissemination with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
Ø Provide assistance to the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports, documents, presentations, as deemed required
Ø Review documents for accuracy and completeness
Ø Develop document control system and filing, referencing and tracking documents
Ø Other support duties as needed
Job Requirements (Qualifications and Experience)
Ø BA/MA or BSC/MCS in Library and Information Science, Management, Office Administration, Computer science, Communications or related fields
Ø 2 years of relevant experience working on documentation
Ø Good Command of English and proficiency in Afan Oromo and Amharic.
Ø Documentation skills
Ø Effective communication skills
Ø Experience in document management
Ø Attention to detail and accuracy
Ø Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ø Proficiency in MS Office tools
