Overview

GTF is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Data Analyst for a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded advocacy project in healthcare, nutrition, agriculture, financial inclusion, and women’s economic empowerment. The project targets the two largest regional states in Ethiopia—Oromia and Somali. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to identify patterns and trends that can inform the organization’s advocacy efforts under the direct supervision of the Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and a deep understanding of statistical methodologies with excellent proficiency in using data analysis software and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

·       Collect and interpret data from various sources.

·       Design and implement data collection processes to meet the needs of the project.

·       Analyze data to identify patterns and trends.

·       Create data visualizations, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

·       Develop and maintain databases and data systems.

·       Identify opportunities for process improvement.

·       Collaborate with other teams to develop data-driven solutions.

·       Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and data cleaning.

Requirements

·       Proven experience as a Data Analyst or relevant position.

·       Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, Stata, SAS, etc.).

·       Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

·       Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.

·       Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

·       Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

·       At least 8 years of experience in data analysis or related field.

·       Proficient in English and local languages.

·       BSc/BA in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
